Masatoshi Sato is a bassist, composer, and educator whose work spans continents and musical genres. With a foundation in jazz and an openness to experimental and cross-genre collaborations, he has brought his distinctive voice to performances.
His career highlights include performances at internationally recognized festivals and venues such as the Gibson AmphitheaterSouth LA Jazz Festivalthe LA Jazz Anniversary Music Festival, Glendale Pop-Up Festival, and Alex Theatre’s Music Festival, EUROPAfest in Bucharest, where he was a finalist in the jazz competition, The Royal Palace Auditorium Hall and Hungarian Cultural Centre in Romania, as well as Hoeilaart Jazz Competition in Belgium and many other museums, venues and festivals around North America, Canada, Europe and Los Angeles area.
In the U.S., he has appeared alongside artists such as Mary WilsonRoy Mccurdy, Bennie Maupin, Ark Sano, Dave Koz, Simone White, Yukiko Matsuyama, John Alvia and many other great musicians in events including fundraisers, gallery openings, and large ensemble performances.
He is passionate about education, musical exploration and collaboration, bringing depth and creativity to every project.
